The South African Police Service (SAPS) Special Task Force (STF) is hiring and inviting qualifying individuals to join the force today.

This recruitment initiative is under the SAPS division of Visible Policing and Operations.

STF Vacancy Requirements
To qualify and be considered for the role in the Special Task Force unit of the SAPS, you must meet the following criteria:
- Have a valid driver’s license and firearm competency.
- Compliance with National Instruction 18 of 2019 (Integrity Management) regarding Remunerative Work.
- Successful completion of fitness and shooting evaluations.
- Completion of refresher or conversion courses.
- Confirmation of suitability for appointment.
Once you have documentation of the above requirements, it’s time to understand the rank and employment offers.
Rank and Employment Offers
If recruited, you will be appointed as an STF Operator/Member within the ranks of a Warrant Officer.
The vacancy will offer you a five-year contract with the SAPS, with an option to extend depending on the value you bring to the force.
If you have previously held the rank of a captain or above, an equivalent rank may be offered, subject to available posts in the SAPS.
How to Apply for the SAPS Special Task Force Vacancies
Unfortunately, SAPS has taken the traditional route of having you submit the Special Task Force job applications manually at the specified office/post.
You MUST submit a written expression of interest with supporting documents and hand deliver at Maupa Naga Building, 3 Troye Street, 2nd Floor Special Task Force, Sunnyside, Pretoria 0132 by the deadline of 31 July 2024.
If your submission has been considered for the job post, you will undergo a vetting process and submit the required documents.
The following documents are required:
- Updated/recent Curriculum Vitae (CV).
- Certificate of acceptance of the post/appointment and salary offer.
- Certificate of unauthorised disclosure of information.
- Code of Conduct.
- WP1002.
- Nomination of beneficiaries (Death Grant).
- Proof of registration with the South African Revenue Service (SARS).
- Fingerprints and AFIS report from LCRC.
- Certificate from the Commander confirming no pending criminal/departmental cases or convictions.
- Confirmation of acceptance of duty.
In the process, should your application be successful, a formal salary offer for consideration will be issued to you for acceptance.
Once you receive an appointment letter, you can expect to start working in the Special Task Force within two months.
